Homedog Owners and Pit Bulls

Hi, we are the Barnard’s – Kristy, Greg, Milton and Sanza. We currently live in Gahanna and have had the pleasure of calling the Columbus, Ohio area home for the past 15 years. Our 2 beautiful fur-babies were adopted through a local foster organization, Pet Promise. Milton (Left) is a 5 year old staffordshire terrier/boxer mix who loves sleeping, eating and tug-o-war. Sanza (Right) is an American Pit Bull Terrier that, if the picture didn’t give it away, can’t sit still – she loves any and everybody but even more so if there is a ball or frisbee involved!

We would love to meet you and your four-legged family/friends too so feel free to reach out and say hi!

We are lifelong dog lovers with 25+ years of experience handling dogs of all breeds; from mutts to mixes and cocker spaniels to american pit bull terriers. Our goal is to provide quality dog care services and resources to dog lovers and help reduce the homeless ]dog population in Central Ohio. We plan to do that through education and awareness to all the options and resources available to dog lovers besides abandonment. We’ve worked with and volunteered for many local rescue organizations, foster groups and dog shelters that are all willing and able to help. A portion of all Homedog’s profits will be donated to these groups so that they can continue to rescue, foster and adopt abandoned/homeless dogs at risk of euthanasia.

We have years of experience researching, training, handling and learning about dogs and the bond we form with them. We want to make the bond you have with your dog(s) the most enjoyable, rewarding and loving experience possible. While it is always easy to say all the things we can do to help you, seeing is believing.

We would love the opportunity to help you with your dog care needs. Check out our availability, give us a call, send us an email or fill out the contact form and we can setup a free consultation to meet.

While searching for a dog to adopt we were distraught by the number of homeless dogs. While a majority of the dogs were “Pit Bull” breeds we came across all breeds and ages. We researched ways to help and found that the main reason a dog is surrendered or abandoned is bad behavior. Many reasons dogs behave badly can be addressed through exercise, enrichment or a better understanding of how your dog communicates. These are things that every dog lover can easily adjust so we determined it was time to find a way to disperse information and resources to show dog lovers everywhere that abandonment is not the only option and that it is in fact the worst possible option for the dog and one that too often ends up in a death sentence for no reason. You can find loads of resources, foster and rescue organizations, do’s/don’ts and adoptable dogs over on our blog.

We know your dog(s) mean the world to you and you want the best for them. We want the best for them too which is why we schedule a consultation. The consultation lets us discuss you and your dog’s needs and address how our dog care services can help. It also allows you to meet one of our dog care team members before you make any decisions. You want to make sure we are the right people for the job and we do too. Fill out the contact form here and we will follow up to schedule a dog care consultation. Thanks!
